PRA were commissioned to prepare a fully bespoke range of new house types and site layout on behalf of Shepherd Homes.

The scheme on a former army training site, comprises of 138 new houses and 40 apartments, within a landscaped setting. PRA took the scheme from inception through to completion of working and production drawings.

The development comprises of a self contained site within a woodland and open countryside setting located outside the Catterick/Colburn village envelopes. The brief was to design a range of new house types which in conjunction with the site layout would reflect the 'village setting' of the proposal.

The main points of note were the introduction of housing clusters set amidst the retained woodland and new green spaces. The siting and careful detailing of the houses reflects a 'village vernacular'.
